BBCC Premium Corporate Member UNILEVER sponsored and hosted the BBCC Members Mixer on 31 March at its offices in the Strojarska complex overlooking the Zagreb skyline. BBCC Members and guests (including representatives of the British Embassy Zagreb, Cathy Ward Charge d’Affaires and Diana Nimac Director of Trade) enjoyed an insightful and dynamic presentation about Unilever's history, mission, and future.

Marko Cucek, CEO of Unilever Croatia, recounted the little-known fact that the Croatian soap brand Saponia was born in 1930 when Prva Osječka Tvornica Sapuna (First Osijek Soap Factory) merged with the British company Lever Brothers (now part of Unilever).

One hundred years later, Unilever is one of the world’s largest consumer goods companies, known for its great brands and belief that doing business the right way drives superior performance. One "strategic imperative” is Purpose-Led Sustainability, focusing on climate action, nature, plastics, and livelihoods.

Unilever sees the damage done by artificial intelligence used in advertising. The company is striving to promote Real Beauty and positive body image in its beauty brand campaigns to support self-esteem and body confidence globally.

Unilever Croatia (Unilever Hrvatska d.o.o.) manages iconic brands across food, beauty, personal care, and home care, offering products like Knorr, Hellmann's, Magnum ice cream, Lipton tea, Dove, Axe, Signal toothpaste, and Domestos to the Croatian market.

After the presentation given by Marko, guests were invited to indulge in a selection of savoury and sweet snacks (including ice cream) and lively conversation. Each participant received a gift bag of Unilever products at the end of a truly enjoyable evening.

Many thanks to Marko and the Unilever Croatia team!
